Prof. Yi Yang, Director of the Center, presented LayerZero AI at HKUST Unicorn Day 2025, a premier entrepreneurial gathering held on June 13 that attracted over 1,300 global investors, industry leaders, and academic representatives.
During the Electronics, AI & Smart Systems investment pitching session, Prof. Yang introduced an innovative approach to enterprise AI that aims to transform siloed knowledge into actionable insights using custom embedding models. With the enterprise AI market projected to reach US$150B by 2030, this technology targets a critical gap: company-specific embeddings that are private, accurate, and compact—trained on proprietary data and tailored to each organization's unique language and needs.
In a recent MVP deployment, the solution reduced irrelevant search results by 25% and cut vector database costs by 3x through efficient embedding compression. Backed by HKUST's Bridge Gap Fund, the team is now raising funds to scale this transformative technology.
HKUST Unicorn Day continues to be a key platform for fostering innovation, and Prof. Yang's participation highlights CBSA's leadership in bridging cutting-edge AI research with real-world enterprise solutions.
